Each semester the President’s Commission on Equity and Inclusive Excellence will provide sponsorship funding (multi-semester and single semester) of up to $2,500 per semester for academic or co-curricular projects (including research, student/community activities, and events) that will contribute to the equity-mindedness of the campus and the broader community.

A special one-time funding of up to $500 with an expedited application process for one-time projects is available for events that need to be scheduled within a shorter planning period.

Also, if you are hosting an event but do not intend to apply for PCOE sponsorship funding, you may still request PCOE endorsement of your event.

Proposed activities and events must be open to University-wide interest and accessibility. In addition, it should directly align with the University’s strategic plan values by being (a) student-centered; (b) equity-minded, inclusive, and respectful; (c) committed to excellence; (d) visionary; and (e) a catalyst for opportunity. The expectation for these awards is that the work:

• Impacts the broader campus community
• Could be sustainable over time in a way that builds equity-mindedness and encourages conversations on equity and inclusion; and
• Encourages and expands student, faculty, and staff engagement
