Assessment Resources

Assessment Cycle

At the core of the assessment cycle sit the missions, visions, and values of A&M-SA and the Division of Student Affairs. It is imperative that our work – from planning to implementation, from data collection to reporting, all reflect the institution and the division.

Assessment Planning

Planning drives process. Good assessment starts with a plan that asks the important questions in order to generate the most accurate and useful outcomes. You can't get the right answer unless you ask the right questions. The following is a template to help ask the questions that matter.

Assessment Terminology

Assessment is the process of purposeful and intentional planning aimed at collecting, analyzing and making meaningful connections of the data to inform decisions on effectiveness and drive continuous improvement. Every university has their own shared language of assessment used to establish consistency and shared understanding.

Learning Outcomes

What is a Learning Outcome? A formal definition of a Learning Outcome might be “Learning Outcomes articulate and define the transformation goals of which the learner will achieve as a result of participating in the experience.” In other words, what do we want the learners to take away from their participation.
