Fraternity Sorority Life Office

Mission
Inspiring Lifelong Bonds, Developing Leaders, and Engaging Inclusive Communities

At the heart of the FSL Office is a commitment to nurturing a vibrant and inclusive community that fosters meaningful connections, personal growth, and a spirit of service. We provide a supportive and enriching environment that empowers individuals to become leaders, scholars, and engaged citizens. We want you to meet our people, understand our purpose, and hear our stories of how our organizations have embraced and empowered us.

Pillars

The Fraternity Sorority Life office has core values that are Pillars of the Fraternity & Sorority Life community at TAMUSA.

  • Friendship- Joining a fraternity or sorority is the beginning of a new experience with new friends and creating a home away from home. Within the FSL community at TAMUSA, we encourage more than just making new friends within one's organization but branching out to the broader Greek community on campus. Becoming Greek affiliated, members become part of a larger national organization and find that they have friends and connections all over the world.
  • Service- Getting involved on and off campus allows members to engage with their community and give back to those around them. Community engagement fosters the growth of the individual, their respective organizations, and the Greek community.
  • Development- TAMUSA offers many opportunities for students to develop outside the classroom. Participation in a fraternity or sorority provides members opportunities to develop leadership and interpersonal skills on campus and within one's organization, skills employers and advanced degree programs look for in their applicants.
  • Success- Fraternities and sororities allow members to earn academic awards, recognition, and scholarships. Each organization offers educational support programs that could require study hours, tutoring sessions with other members, or mentoring opportunities.

Expansion

Texas A&M University-San Antonio is taking steps to grow our current fraternity and sorority life community. The fraternity/sorority expansion process aims to invite new sororities and fraternities to establish chapters on our campus.

Please Note: The university will not recognize local fraternities or sororities as Fraternity & Sorority Life community members. Expansion/extension for a fraternity/sorority is not automatic; "campus crashing" or forming a group of interested students without the approval of The Office of Student Life or by the Inter/National headquarters will not be tolerated.
