Purpose

The purpose of this formal IT governance structure is to foster engagement between university departments. Utilizing a collaborative approach, the ITSC will provide oversight for the use, management, and integration of information systems across their lifecycles with a focus on:

  1. Supporting the university’s mission and goals
  2. Providing value
  3. Minimizing risk
  4. Complying with applicable regulations, accreditation, professional practice, and legal standards

June Update
The committee received updates from the Chief Information Officer and the Office of Information Security. The Threat Summary for May and TX-RAMP compliance status was shared with the committee. The top 5 ITS projects for the month are Tableau, Digital Inclusion, Campus Website Redesign (code name Project B), Laserfiche Phase 2 (In Stabilization), and CRM Element451. Key project status updates were presented regarding the A/V Project and Offsite Backups.

May Update
The committee received updates from the Chief Information Officer and the Office of Information Security. The Threat Summary for April and TX-RAMP compliance status was shared with the committee. The top 5 ITS projects for the month are Tableau, Digital Inclusion, Campus Website Redesign (code name Project B), Laserfiche Phase 2, and CRM Element451. Laserfiche Phase 2 will be in stabilization soon making room for a project to move up to the Top 5. Projects under consideration are Kaltura, Verbit, Financial Aid WorkDay/Banner Integration, and Luminus Replacement. Key project status updates were presented regarding the A/V Project and Offsite Backups.

April Update
The committee received updates from the Chief Information Officer and the Office of Information Security. The Threat Summary for March and details of a Security Incident were shared with the committee. The top 5 ITS projects for the month are Tableau, Digital Inclusion, Campus Website Redesign (code name Project B), Laserfiche Phase 2, and CRM Element451. Key project status updates were presented regarding the A/V Project and other Enterprise Applications. The justification of the IT-1S form was discussed.
