In January, Francesca Garcia, Student Development Coordinator for Student Rights and Responsibilities, won the A&M-San Antonio employee spotlight. One of her colleagues nominated Garcia for her outstanding work for the university.

“Francesca is a true servant leader who goes above and beyond for those around her. Not only does advocate for students but also her fellow colleagues across campus. She can be seen volunteering across campus at resource fairs, housing move-in, orientation, or any campus events; she jumps in and helps if she can. She represents the best teamwork and being of service, which is contagious.

Her passion for students shines through in her everyday work. Her work in student conduct and CARE Referrals can be emotionally draining, but she does it with a smile. She works hard to find resources for students on and off campus. She does not just check in on a student once and be done; she continually checks on them to ensure they are still connected and assists them with getting additional resources as they need them. Student growth and development are at the heart of her work at A&M San Antonio.”
