The Office of Student Life hosted its annual Jaguar Awards Ceremony on Saturday, April 22, at the Embassy Suites at Brooks City Base. The Jaguar Awards recognizes leadership and involvement in the A&M-SA community with awards sponsored by the Office of Student Life, Family Engagement, Transfer Student Engagement, Office of First-Year Experience, and the Mays Center for Experiential Learning & Community Engagement.
At the ceremony, it was announced that for the 22-23 academic year, student organizations hosted or co-hosted over 1,200 events, from tabling on campus to guest speakers, community service projects, fundraisers, cultural events, bible studies, educational and political forums and workshops, food, clothing, toy, book drives, and general meetings, both in-person and virtual! There were also various co-hosted events with each other and departments! Some of the collaborations this year were with offices such as Military Affairs, Transfer Student Engagement, The Student Counseling Center, Recreational Sports, The Mays Center, the University Library, Title IX, and many more! We hope to see more department and student organizations co-hosted events next year.
The evening ended with a dance where many student leaders could cut loose before the stress of finals!
This year we saw a record number of nominations, with some categories receiving well over 20+ nominations, so it was the most competitive awards season yet!
