Texas A&M-San Antonio hosts Ring Days every semester- an opportunity for Jaguars with 60+ credits to receive their ring as they step on the University Seal surrounded by their loved ones.

In collaboration with Herff Jones, A&M-SA’s official ring vendor, Jaguars have the opportunity to apply for the Class Ring Award Scholarship. This scholarship allows Jaguars to choose a class ring of their choice, which Herff Jones fully funds.

This semester, the University Ring Committee awarded the scholarship to Lori Prieto and Stephanie Martinez.

Lori Prieto transferred from the Alamo Colleges and is now set to graduate in the Fall of 2022. Prieto expressed how transferring schools can be challenging, but she immediately gained a family when she became involved with the Transfer Student Engagement Office. “This school is all about being one big family, and that’s part of what the ring means to me…” said Prieto. Aspiring to be a Marketing Director, she sees her university ring as a reminder to keep going, even during challenging moments.

Stephanie Martinez, who is also part of our transfer community, reflected on her experience so far as a Jaguar. Martinez, a communication major, expects to graduate Spring of 2022. She admits it has not been an easy journey, but her moment stepping on the seal with her family made a positive impact.
