Delta Chi Wins Presidents Cup.

Subject: Delta Chi Awards (October)

Award

Each year, Delta Chi recognizes its collegiate chapters/colonies, alumni chapters, members, and friends for the fantastic things they do on campus, in the Fraternity, in their careers, and in society.

“Delta Chi’s most coveted and prestigious award is the President’s Cup. Delta Chi recognizes the top two chapters/colonies in both the red and buff divisions each year. The President’s Cup winners have demonstrated superior excellence in operational performance while promoting a strong values-based fraternal experience and creating a measurable impact for their members, campuses, and communities.”- Delta Chi National Website.

Following the video announcement earlier for the Delta Chi awards, the Texas A&M University Delta Chi chapter was presented the President’s Cup.

Samuel Gonzalez, an active brother, reflected after the announcement, “It is an honor to have won the President’s Cup after my first year in Delta Chi. It was challenging but interesting to see how we worked around the pandemic with in-person and virtual events - while still remaining active in the community by volunteering and donating to non-profits such as the THRIVE youth center.”

Juan  Espinoza Jr., Assistant Director of Transfer Student Engagement, Advisor of Delta Chi Fraternity, and Advisor of Tau Sigma National Honor Society, said, “As the advisor to the two-time Student Organization of the Year AND recent President’s Cup recipient, I put a lot of pressure on the guys to keep up that standard. At the end of the day, it’s not the awards that fuel us; it’s the impact we make on our campus and local communities – that’s where we can truly practice our values of Promote Friendship, Advance Justice, Develop Character, and Assist in the Acquisition of a sound education. I am beyond proud to be the advisor and brother in the bond of Delta Chi”.

The International President of Delta Chi, Mr. Aaron Otto, is currently on a nationwide road trip delivering the most recent awards to chapters across the nation. “He will most likely personally deliver those to us soon, or better yet, he will be attending our long-awaited chartering banquet on October 16th to present us the President’s Cup trophy! We’re so excited,” said Espinoza

Delta Chi also received the Community Impact Award, giving the chapter that “go above and beyond their philanthropy, community service projects, and campus communities.”

“We were fortunate to have a strong brotherhood bond to help get each other through the previous academic year. I look forward to this coming year having the biggest recruitment class to date! And, of course, all future successes,” said Gonzalez.
