PRIDE Picnic, June 23

Celebrating PRIDE Month with free BBQ, Music, Games, and more. Featuring a PRIDE Fashion show hosted by Rainbow P.A.W.S.

The PRIDE Picnic on June 23rd had over 100 attendees!! This event was the first picnic hosted on campus; Student Involvement took the lead in partnership with Rainbow P.A.W.S not only to encourage but take advantage of in-person events during the summer.

“With in-person events back, we want to get the campus back together. Our department’s goal was to lift students’ morale. We knew Pride was mainly virtual this year, so we wanted a space for fun music, gathering, and community,” said Jarrick Brown, Student Activities Coordinator

Rainbow P.A.W.S. (Pride At Work and School)  hosted a “rainbow-est” fashion show; the catwalk included staff and students strung their colorful outfits; 3 winners were given fun prizes.

Dr. Mari was one of many people spotted taking a selfie at the university’s new Rainbow Road bridge spot between Lot 1 and 2.
