Private Scholarship Listing

The Dream U.S. Scholarship   Texas A&M-San Antonio is a partner University with The.Dream.US Scholarship. The National Scholarship Award will cover your tuition and fees up to a maximum of $29,000 for a bachelor’s degree. For more information, please visit www.thedream.us 

• Have graduated or will graduate from high school (or have earned or will earn a high school equivalency diploma) by the end of the 2018-19 academic year;
• Graduated high school or will graduate with a GPA of 2.5 or better on a 4.0 scale;
• Are not and have not previously been enrolled in a four-year institution or bachelor program and have not earned more than 21 credits in a community college (not counting credits earned in a pre-college or dual enrollment program in high school);
• Intend to enroll full-time in an associate or bachelor’s degree program at a Partner College no later than the Spring term of 2019-20 academic year;
• Are eligible for in-state tuition at the Partner College you want to attend (not applicable if it is a private Partner College);
• Have current DACA or TPS or certify that you meet the DACA immigration eligibility criteria set forth below;
• Arrived in the United States before reaching your 16th birthday; and
• Have significant unmet financial need.

 

San Antonio Education Partnership (and A&M-SA Match)  The scholarship has the following criteria:

• Student must meet all requirements as defined by San Antonio Education Partnership
• Must demonstrate financial need (as determined by FAFSA/TASFA)
• Graduate from a participating high school
• Enroll full-time and maintain good standing
• A&M- San Antonio offers a Match Scholarship to students who meet additional GPA requirements

 

Fifth-Year Accounting Students Scholarships  You can apply through the accounting department. Up to $6,000 will be awarded. The scholarship requirements are:

• File and application of Intent with the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy to take the CPA Exam as a Texas candidate
• Be a Texas resident
• Be within 30 hours of completing the 150 semester-hour education requirement to take the CPA Exam
• Completed at least 15 hours of upper-level accounting courses
• Become a licensed CPA in Texas

 

John S. McCain International Scholarship for Military Families  The U.S. Department of State’s John S. McCain International Scholarship for Military Families (Gilman-McCain Scholarship) provides awards of $5,000.  

• A citizen or national of the United States;
• An undergraduate student in good standing at an accredited institution of higher education in the United States (including both two-year and four-year institutions);
• Dependent (child or spouse) of active or activated United States military personnel during the time of application;
• Recipient of any type of Title IV federal financial aid during the time of application or provide proof that they will be receiving Title IV federal financial aid during their study abroad program or internship;
• In the process of applying to, or accepted to, a credit-bearing study abroad or internship program. Proof of program acceptance is required prior to award disbursement;
• Applying for credit-bearing study abroad programs in a country or area with an overall Travel Advisory Level 1 or 2; 

 

How to Protect Yourself from Cyber Crimes  This scholarship award is $1,500. Applicants must be:

• EITHER be out-going high school seniors OR students currently enrolled in a college, trade school, or university;
• A copy of your transcript or proof of enrollment;
• Upload your 500-word essay as a Word doc  

 

Education Accessibility Scholarship  This scholarship award is $1,000. We ask that all applicants meet the following requirements:

• Be currently enrolled (or enrolled prior to the scholarship deadline) at an accredited institution in the U.S. with the intent to complete either a two- or four-year program in/at a: Junior College Community College Paralegal Program Undergraduate Program Graduate Program;
• Be the first in your family to attend a four-year college Have good academic standing with a minimum 3.0 GPA or above.   
• A completed application for this scholarship must include the following: A current resume A current official or unofficial transcript from your most recent academic institution; A 750-word essay discussing how you think the public education system in the United States could do more for students to be able to attend a higher education institution.

 

 

Blankstyle Scholarship Fund    This awards $1,000.  Provide basic background information. Summarize your accomplishments and aspirations. Tell us why you deserve this scholarship and how it will help accomplish your goals. Just for fun tell us how t-shirts have played a role in your life.

• A high school senior that has been accepted to an accredited university or A current student enrolled in college courses;

 

Bobby Mendez Traumatic Brain Injury Scholarship   This award is $2,500.  The following criteria apply:

• Anyone who has suffered from a traumatic brain injury;
• Anyone whose family member has suffered from a traumatic brain injury;
• The person must be pursuing a college degree;

 

Brown Trail Firm Scholarship Essay Contest  This award is $1,000. A winner will be selected up to 6 weeks after the submission deadline. One winner will be awarded the scholarship amount, and notable entries may also be published on the Brown Trial Firm website. To qualify:

• You must be a U.S. resident or resident alien;
• Currently enrolled in classes with a valid student ID at a U.S College or University;
• Essays must be unique (not submitted elsewhere) and written by the scholarship application signatory;

 

Bruce K. Lee Scholarship  This award is $10,000.  Applicants must read the prompt essay question and write their convenient views according to the instructions: “Please explain a personal hardship or catastrophic life event that you have experienced." To qualify:

• High school students graduating this calendar year and have been accepted into a university; or
• Students currently enrolled in a university;
• Must be in good academic standing with your current educational institution. 

 

JT Legal Group College Scholarship  This award is $2,500. Judging will be based on the following criteria: Originality of ideas. Quality of content submission: Organization, structure, and grammatical integrity. Adherence to the eligibility criteria and instructions.

• Must have a GPA above 3.0;

 

Looking Forward to End Distracted Driving Scholarship  This award is $1,000.  In order to qualify for the scholarship contest you will need to gather the following information: Your Name; A valid email address ; Phone Number; A copy of your transcript or proof of enrollment; Upload your 500-word essay as a Word doc Submit your materials via the “Apply Now” button.

• Applicants must: Either be enrolled in a university or;
• Graduating from high school

 

North American Van Lines Logistics Scholarship  This award is $3,000.  Submit a brief essay of between 400 and 800 words, detailing why a career in logistics/supply chain management is your college major of choice. A personalized tone, referencing sincere firsthand experience and sentiment, is best—no need to be too formal. To qualify:

• U.S. Citizen (or permanent resident).
• Enrolled (or enrolling) as a full time student of an accredited college/university within the United States for completion of an undergraduate degree in Logistics or equivalent field. 

 

Right to Trial by Jury  This award is $1,000.  Overview of Essay Topic: “Do you agree with the following statement: Jury Service is a fundamental right and civic responsibility that is essential to our democracy. Why or why not? What does the Seventh Amendment mean to you, and how could it affect your life?" Requirements: Please write a two-part essay, which should be completed in a maximum of 500 words. To qualify: 

• Be a high school senior accepted at a university or;
• Currently enrolled in a university 

 

Your Time to Climb Scholarship   This award is $2,000. In his childhood in Alaska, J. Todd Tenge learned that you have to push yourself just to keep going – and sometimes, that’s enough. Other times, you need to work harder to achieve the goal you’ve set for yourself. Tell us about a time you pushed yourself because you wanted something. Did you succeed? What did you learn from the experience? To qualify:

• Be a high school senior on track to graduate;
• Be Currently enrolled or Planning to attend college or graduate school;
• You have a 3.0 GPA or higher;
• You are a U.S. Citizen or hold Permanent Residency status. DACA recipients are welcome to apply;

Brazos Education Foundation This award is $5,000. Scholarships are awarded to Texas residents based on a candidate's academic performance, financial need, readiness and commitment to study, plus other considerations.

 To qualify, you must:

• Be a graduating high school senior, current college student, or graduate student.
• Be a Texas resident and be at least 17 years old.
• Have a minimum 3.3 GPA or equivalent.
• Be accepted and committed to attend or enrolled in a U.S.-accredited state or nonprofit college or university located anywhere within the United States.

Applicants may only apply once in an academic year (defined as August - July).
