National Hispanic Heritage Month celebrates and recognizes the contributions Hispanic Americans have made to American society and culture and honors five of our Central American neighbors (ancestors from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America) who celebrate their Independence days in September.

LatinX Comics & Graphic Novels Physical and Virtual Display

During Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15-October 15), the University Library has created a physical display featuring the works by and about prominent comics and graphic novels Latinx creators, along with comics that showcase Latinx voices and experiences.  We have also put together a virtual display featuring the works of prominent Hispanic authors, along with materials that discuss Hispanic culture and history.

HSI Week: Celebrating Cinco

Texas A&M-SA will be celebrating 5 years as an HSI and will present programming that informs and produces a call to action and increases a sense of belonging among LatinX students.

Celebrate children with a family-friendly day of cultural festivities! ¡Vivan Los Niños! is brought to you by A&M-San Antonio in partnership with the Office of the President, Nuestra Gente Tribute, The Institute for School and Community Partnerships, the Office of Equity and Inclusion, and the Division of Student Engagement and Success.  Fun for the whole family, this inaugural children’s celebration includes artmaking, games, and performances!

HACU Emerging Leaders' Summit

The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) hosts Regional Summits focused on preparing students for leadership roles and internships within high-demand fields, including science, technology, engineering, mathematics (STEM), finance, accounting, business, communications, and marketing fields. HACU's Emerging Leaders' Summit will focus on HACU-member schools within the Greater San Antonio metropolitan area. The event will be held in person on Friday, October 28, 2022, and will be co-hosted with Texas A&M University-San Antonio.
