Finding Funding Opportunities
Proquest PIVOT
Texas A&M University has subscribed to the PIVOT database for access to federal, state, private and nonprofit funding sources. The database contains over 47 Billion dollars in funding opportunities related to all academic areas, including the arts, humanities, as well as business, education and the social and physical sciences. Opportunities are constantly updated and current.
PIVOT is available to TAMU-SA faculty, staff, and students using a TAMU-SA e-mail to log in. Creating a personal profile is easy in PIVOT. In fact, most faculty will find that a profile already exists for them to claim. Once an account and profile are created, searches for funders may be saved and e-mails will alert the account holder to new opportunities.
In addition to finding funding matches, PIVOT identifies other researchers with similar research interests, both within TAMUSA and all over the world, providing an excellent resource for finding collaborators.
PIVOT an also be used to find detailed, comprehensive information about calls for papers with deadlines regarding forthcoming conferences and special issues of scholarly journals. These calls for papers are issued by professional bodies, journal editors, and other conference organizers in all disciplines and from all over the world. Thus, the database serves as an alerting service for researchers, scholars, and students seeking opportunities to present and publish their research.
