NTERDISCIPLINARY MINOR IN Mexican American, Latinx, and Borderlands Studies / LIST OF COURSES:

A minor in Mexican American, Latinx, and Borderlands Studies requires eighteen (18) semester hours. This minor focuses on the history, language, and culture of the rapidly growing Mexican American/Latinx population in the United States with particular attention to border regions. The interdisciplinary minor is offered in conjunction with the College(s) of Arts & Sciences, Business, and Education & Human Development within the respective departments of English, History, Spanish, and Sociology, Management & Marketing, Bilingual Education, Early Childhood, and Reading.  

SOCI 2361 Introduction to Mexican American, Latinx, and Borderlands Studies is required to complete the interdisciplinary minor. Students may select from the following list of additional courses to complete this minor.

No more than 9 semester hours in any one discipline may apply toward the interdisciplinary minor in Mexican American, Latinx, and Borderlands Studies. The courses will be heavily concentrated in a focus on the Mexican American/Latinx population in the United States with particular attention to border regions. Students may not count the same course toward both a major in their respective Colleges and disciplines of English, History, Sociology, Spanish, Management and Marketing, Bilingual Education, Early Childhood, Reading, and the minor in Mexican American, Latinx, and Borderlands Studies. 

Mexican American, Latinx, and Borderlands Studies: This minor consists of SOCI 2361 (Introduction to Mexican American, Latinx, and Borderlands Studies) and 15 additional semester hours of courses from the following list:
