Joint Admission Medical Program - JAMP

Overview:

In Fall 2019, A&M-SA began participating in the Joint Admission Medical Program (JAMP). This program was created by the Texas Legislature in 2003 to provide a path to medical for economically disadvantaged students across Texas. This program offers: Scholarship access, summer internships, clinical enrichment, an MCAT preparation program, and professional development.  

Major Qualification Requirements:
Must be 18 years or older and a Texas resident

Must be entering an institution of higher learning after high school graduation or a home-schooled program.

Must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent U.S. resident

3.25 GPA overall and 3.25 GPA in Biology-Chemistry-Physics-Math (BCPM) is preferred

Must be enrolled full-time at A&M-San Antonio

Complete 27 undergraduate semester hours during your first year of college

Apply for regular admission no later than 2nd year of college; MUST have completed 2 semesters of General Chemistry (with labs) with a grade of “C” or better and must complete 2 semesters of Organic Chemistry (with labs) prior to the first summer internship
