Media Partners

Jaguar Student Media Network Media Partners are professionals in the media industry who offer their skillset to train and prepare students for meaningful careers. Media Partners meet with faculty regularly throughout the year and with student producers on a daily basis in person and virtually.

Lynn Knieriem Headshot

Lynn Knierem

Serves as a co-advisor to The Enlace Media Lab, the broadcast division of the Jaguar Student Media Network. Lynn is the owner of Flying Colors Broadcast, Inc. based in Washington DC. She has worked in radio, news, video production, live event management, and streaming media. Her consulting to the student media team involves technical production mentoring, face-to-face mentorship and networking opportunities with other regional and national broadcast professionals. Lynn is based in San Antonio, Texas.

Lorraine Pulido, Ph.D.

Teaches courses in Public Relations Campaigns, connecting students to clients, internships, and job opportunities. Lorraine is a bilingual strategic marketing and public relations expert with more than 28 years' experience in the marketing, corporate, and non-profit industries. She has received 16 PRSA Awards and was selected the 2006 Public Relations Professional of the Year by the PRSA-SA. She earned a Ph.D. from Our Lady of the Lake University’s School of Business and Leadership Studies, a master’s degree from the Columbia University School of Journalism, and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania. She works full-time as the Communications Manager at VIA metropolitan Transit in San Antonio, Texas.

Patricio Espinoza

Serves as a consultant to the Enlace Media Lab. Patricio is an EMmy award winning Journalist, Digital Entrepreneur and Academic. He has served as a Knight Digital Fellow, McCormick Media Management an Poynter Fellow. From the trenches to the board room, Patricio offers a unique combination of experience and skills in legacy journalism, today's digital platforms, and news media management. He currently works for ABC15 in Phoenix, Arizona.

Rick Fisher

Serves as co-adviser to El Espejo Magazine. Rick is a creative Director with fifteen years’ experience in graphic design, advertising and editorial design, photo editing, creative marketing, client management, team management and website management. He currently serves as the Lead Designer/Production Manager for VIA Metropolitan Transit. His consulting to the student media team involves magazine conception, design and production mentoring for the student-produced magazine. He is based in Dallas, TX.

William Luther

Served as the co-adviser to The Mesquite, the online news division of the Jaguar Student Media Network. William transitioned from lead photographer position with the San Antonio Express- News and our student-run news lab in March 2024 to take a full-time position as Senior Photographer with the Southwest Research Institute. While serving as co-adviser William provided editorial and photographic consult for the online news site between 2020-2024. He continues to offer mentorship and job advice to student photographers.

Gerald Townsend

Was recruited to serve as technology consultant and lab manager for the Jaguar Student Media Network between 2014-2019. He served as a professor of Journalism at San Antonio College for 39 years from 1975-2014. Based in Oregon, he continues to provide valued insight on curriculum and technology as well as face-to-face photography and lighting workshops
