Testing Center - Policies and Procedures

On the day your exam, you should report to the Texas A&M-San Antonio Central Academic Building, Suite 209.  Please arrive at least 15 to 30 minutes before your scheduled time, depending on your exam.  You must provide a valid photo ID to be admitted to the test, this can include driver's license, passport or passport card, Texas Department of Public Safety identification card, government/military ID, or current alien resident's card.  Some testing agencies may require two forms of identification. If you have questions about the identification requires of your exam, please contact the Testing Center.


Fees

The administration fee for each exam is listed below. These fees do not include any addition fees charged by the testing agency.

Exam Cancellations/Rescheduling 

In order to reschedule without forfeiting any administration fees and test fees, you must call our office at least 24 to 72 hours prior to your schedule test date, depending on your exam.  Students can reschedule once without penalty (depending on the exam).  Some testing agencies may have a cancellation/reschedule fee and will need to be contacted separately.

If you need to reschedule a proctored exam, please get your instructors approval.

Administration fees and test fees may not be transferable to another date if you are not allowed to test due to not having the proper identification (see identification requirements).

Administration fees and test fees may not be transferred to another date if you are not admitted to the test session because you were late.

Cancellations do not provide refunds for administration fees. The Testing Center is unable to issue refunds. For questions or concerns, please contact the Testing Center at (210)-784-1366.

To Cancel Your Exam

 If you need to cancel an A&M-San Antonio proctored exam, you may do so by following these steps:

  1. Click here to go to the online scheduling system
  2. Click 'My History' in the upper right side of the screen
  3. Enter the email address you used to register
  4. You will receive an email, click the link provided
  5. It will take you to a page with all the exams that were registered using that email address
  6. You will have an option to cancel the exam from this page

Please note: Only A&M-San Antonio exams can be canceled by the examinee. All other cancellations should be done by contacted the Testing Center at (210)-784-1366 or sending a detailed email to Testing.Center@tamusa.edu


Inclement Weather Policy

The Testing Center occasionally has to close with limited notice due to unforeseen events, such as extreme weather, natural disaster, power outages, or other unexpected occurrences. The Testing Center will give as much notice as possible and will try to notify you prior to your arrival on campus.  If your appointment is impacted, the A&M-SA Testing Center will notify you via email of your exam cancellation and provide information on how to reschedule your exam.


Testing Room Policies

The following items are not authorized in the testing rooms and include, but are not limited to:

  • Large outerwear (jackets, coats, etc.)
  • Hoodies/hooded shirts
  • Hats
  • Food and drinks
  • Purses
  • Briefcases
  • Book bags
  • Books and notebooks
  • Cell phones and other electronic devices
  • Recording devices, such as USB drives, handheld records, etc.
  • Photographic equipment
  • Smart watches, electronic watches, or fitness devices of any kind
  • Smart Glasses; i.e., Google, SnapChat, etc.
  • Firearms and weapons of any kind

Approved Materials

The Testing Center supplies examinees with scratch paper, pencils, and pens.  The examinee must supply some of their own exam materials, such as a Scantron, calculator, etc., if authorized for use.  The items must be cleared of any notes and saved materials and will be inspected by staff.

Lockers are provided for personal items.  Examinees that utilize lockers are responsible for damage to lockers or lost keys, and can be assessed fees to cover the cost of lost keys and/or damage.  The Testing Center is not responsible for lost, misplaced, or stolen items.  Items too big to be placed in lockers can be left in the lobby at the owners own risk.
