Testing Center - Texas Commission on Fire Protection (TCFP)

TCFP Online Exams technical issues have been resolved and examinees can now schedule.


The mission of the Texas Commission on Fire Protection (TCFP) is to help protect the lives and property of the citizens of Texas by developing and enforcing professional standards for the fire service which includes certification, training approval and testing, curriculum, and standards compliance.


Texas A&M University-San Antonio Testing Center, in partnership with the TCFP, can administer computer based certification exams. 

  1. Register for your TCFP Online Exam through your FIDO (see instructions below) account and receive your Exam Eligibility Form.
  2. Make an appointment to take your exam, link provided below.  There is a $25.00 exam fee that you will pay when registering.
  3. Arrive on your scheduled exam day at least 15 minutes early for check-in and have with you a valid, Government/State issued Photo ID and a printed copy your TCFP Exam Eligibility Form.

Instructions for FIDO.

  1. Log into your FIDO account.
  2. Click on the 3 bars that open the navigation menu, choose Records.
  3. Click on the Testing Section in the green navigation bar.
  4. Scroll to your authorized exam (denoted by a blue highlight) and print the Eligibility Form.
