Texas A&M-San Antonio is committed to providing training for all personnel participating in human subjects research to uphold federal mandates. To fulfill this, IRB requires all investigators and study team members who are or will be involved in human subjects research to complete human subjects research training and to submit a financial conflict of interest disclosure form. IRB applications will not be considered if these requirements are not met.

The training requirements apply to all persons with a significant role in the research (Principal Investigators, Co-Investigators, non-TAMUSA/external investigators and students) who are designated to:

• Recruit potential research participants
• Obtain informed consent from prospective research participants
• Interact or intervene with participants to collect research data, or
• Analyze identifiable research data

Texas A&M-San Antonio offers free online IRB training courses through CITI Program.  Click Here for instructions on how to access CITI Program trainings.  Please select "Texas A&M University-San Antonio" as the affiliated institution.

PIs, Co-PIs, study team members, non-TAMUSA/external investigators and student investigators are required to complete and pass all training modules with a minimum score of 80%. Please attach the CITI Program certificate(s) and completion report(s) with scores to the IRB application.
